One More Time An Exhibition and Symposium on marking time in art
London Metropolitan University 20th-22nd October, 2011

One More Time, curated by Anne Robinson, Senior Lecturer in Film at London Met, brought together several contemporary artists engaged with ideas about spatialiazing and marking time through a rang of art practices. The performances, films, photographs, installations and art pieces in the One More Time exhibition were on show for three days, from October 20th - 22nd in the Libeskind Graduate Centre and the Old Boilerhouse at London Metropolitan University. On Friday 21st October, there was an artists’ symposium on Friday 20th October with presentations from all of the participating artists: Steve Farrer, Rachel Gomme, Rona Lee, Leibniz (Helen Spackman and Ernst Fischer), Laura Malacart, Paul St George, William Raban, and Claire Zakiewicz. The show and symposium focused on practice-led research in contemporary art and on experimental film practices. This event was and jointly supported by JCAMD and The Facility Research Centre in FSSH.

The main symposium event was well attended by senior academic colleagues, researchers and graduate students from many institutions including The Royal College, University of Sussex and the University of the Arts, engaged with art practice, visual culture, film studies and performance studies. The event also attracted a large number of independent art practitioners and visitors from as far afield as the Netherlands and Czech Republic. The symposium and ensuing informal discussions have generated dynamic discussions around the topic and helped to forge connections between artists and academics working in related fields. Visitor feedback for both symposium and artworks was extremely positive and proposals have been made for participants to work together in the future. All of the talks and artworks have been recorded and as much material as possible will be made available via the Facilty website and and further visual material can be found online.

The curator also intends to take this work forward as written and visual documentation.
