Sarah has published four poetry collections, Bliss Tangle (Stride, 1999), The Lady Chapel (Stride, 2003), Perihelion (Shearsman, 2006) and Ascension Notes (Shearsman 2009). A selection of her poetry is included in the anthology Identity Parade (Bloodaxe, 2010) and her pamphlet TV poems was published in 2011 (small minded books). She has recently collaborated with composer Ken Crandall to create a song cycle about medieval visionary Margery Kempe ('Margery's Harbour') and is completing a poetry collection, Ink's Wish, on the same theme.

Academic publications include a chapter in Julian of Norwich's Legacy: Medieval Mysticism and Post Medieval Reception (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009), and papers on Julian of Norwich in contemporary women's poetry (Poetry and Theology, 2011) and Denise Levertov.
