Claire Hodgson

Claire Hodgson has been teaching in post 18 education for the last 12 years. In addition to teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes she has worked with adult returners, young people from ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, women and prisoners. The focus of the work has been about enabling people to access higher education and in particular performing arts, theatre and movement training. Claire's current role at Londonmet is as a Senior Lecturer with responsibility for outreach and inclusion. Her work has focused on developing a diverse and inclusive curriculum, pedagogy and practice. With Owen Smith of The Arts Learning Partnership, Claire negotiated and developed a partnership with Graeae Theatre Company. The Performing Arts Department now hosts and jointly delivers Graeae's Missing Piece theatre training course. Last year Graeae and the University made a successful bid to the lottery to build a fully accessible arts centre and home for Graeae on the North Campus. Claire has recently given research papers in Washington, Poland and the U.K
